New Girl Day 1

I'm not sure what to call her yet. The rescue had named her Scarlett, but when I transported her 10 days ago to the foster, he misunderstood and started calling her Star. I liked that, goes well with my other celestial planet, Sun. I'm waiting to see what comes out of my mouth when I don't think about it. In the car bringing her home this morning, Scarlett was coming out, but working on training commands later, the one syllable Star seemed to work better.

However, we do have pictures. The first one is Sunny reclining in his favorite pose 2 days ago.

The new girl came in and commandeered that nice bed, and she has a similar pose.

But then she can also curl up real cute...

The first new command: Out of the kitchen. They are watching now from an appropriate distance as I make my dinner. Sunny's not real sure about being pushed to the back of the pack, but he's being a good sport about it. I rearranged my work space so that there is a dog bed on each side of me so nobody feels left out.

Sunny's Halo

Why does this little dog, who fights so stubbornly to avoid the Gentle Leader, submit so meekly to this medieval torture device? He even helps me put it on him, pushing his head forward into the cone.

And then there was the time I accidentally slipped it on backwards! We all got a good laugh out of that. Well, I was laughing. Maybe Sunny wasn't.

It's been exactly 7 days right now since he had his second knee operated on. He hasn't given any indication that he knows anything is wrong, so, of course, he cannot understand why he can't run and jump and play. 1 week down, 11 to go!
